Lara Gibson is a journalist and writer based in Valencia, Spain. With a rich history of living across diverse cities—Cairo, London, and Beirut—Lara has reported on political developments, economic affairs, human rights, travel and the arts.

Her reporting has been featured in publications such as Monocle, The New Arab, Semafor, Middle East Eye, The New Internationalist, Business Insider, Metro, Wired for Adventure, The Africa Report and many more.

Lara spent several years in Egypt, where she fearlessly explored the country’s most dangerous road, delved into its fading culinary traditions, swam with sharks while free-diving, and covered the complex geopolitical and economic shifts of Cairo.

Before her time in Egypt, Lara worked as a financial journalist in London.​
Lara has a degree in Modern Languages & Cultures from the University of Durham, and writes regularly about her life, travels and thoughts on her Substack Lara's Adventures.
